Sony has announced that Resistance 3 will release in the UK on September 9.

It’ll launch in the rest of Europe on September 7. The 50s-esque sci-fi shooter was already confirmed for a September 6 ship in the US back in December last year.

SCEE has also detailed its pre-order plans for the game, as well as two limited editions: the Special Edition and Survivor Edition.

Pre-order content will consist of SRPA Black Ops and Chimera-infected Nathan Hale skins, the Air Fuel Grenade, a special multiplayer title known as Sentinel, a multiplayer booster – which lets you begin from Level 5 – and a Chimera tooth necklace.

Details on how to get the pre-order content from various outlets in the US can be found here.

The special edition will come in a steelcase with all of the pre-order items above. It’ll also have a vinyl effect on the Blu-ray.

The Survivor Edition will feature all of the above from the special edition, as well as a canvas satchel back-pack, a Chimera firing-range target, Fight for Freedom toy soldiers, the journal of main character Joseph Capelli’s, an SRPA hip flask and SRPA playing cards.

I wonder who you’ll play as this time round. Hopefully they’ll bring back co-op campaign and it will feel less rushed than the second.

One thing Iv’e never got about resistance is why they set it in the 50ies. It doesn’t feel old, the style and structure of everything feels modern. Placing it in a past time setting is just odd, at ends with the rest of the design.
For example the time setting for Bioshock felt right, the graphics design, dialogue and kinda game-play fit with the time period. It also made all these things original and interesting. But with Resistance it just doesn’t.
