Infinity Ward: Modern Warfare 3 post-launch support to be “major focus”

Infinity Ward community boss Robert Bowling has said that post-launch support for Modern Warfare 3 will be a main aim for the studio after it launches in November.

Bowling said in a tweet, when asked for “constant patches” and “exceptional” support following launch, it would be “a major focus of mine and the entire team since the feedback from Modern Warfare 2.”

It comes as the studio were lambasted for not fixing multiplayer exploits and hacks quick enough with Modern Warfare 2 after its November 2009 release.

Modern Warfare 3 will launch on PS3, 360 and PC on November 8. The first full trailer for the game will air during the NBA Playoffs on Monday night/Tuesday morning.

Thanks, Gamerzines.

Let’s release an unfinished game and finish it later with $15 DLC packs.

Oh you IW. Action speaks louder than words.

Just hope they don’t bloat the multiplayer – I much preferred Black Ops’ balanced/streamlined MP, rather than MW2′s kitchen sink approach.

Since bloody when is making extra content which people have to pay for ‘exceptional support’?

And if I understood that wrong, they probably meant that support will be, indeed, a major focus, but making DLC and screwing you for it will be a major-er focus.

@5: Lovely remarks there, bud :D

It’s sad to see a company lose the trust of nearly every gamer out there but i think they meant support for multiplayer. As we all remember,MW2 was nearly unplayable and there were millions of people who would happily play mw2 multiplayer if IW actually did something to fix the hacks.

Post launch support to be major focus.

Ummm, thanks for telling us captain obvious?

That should just be standard and if you don’t release a half ass attempt at a game to meet a fucking deadline so activision can rake in the cash then you wouldn’t need to worry. Modern Warfare 2 online is a mess and nothing gets done. DLC for cod is a joke aswell, never been conned by it before and never will.
