Spike to be exclusive TV broadcaster of Microsoft E3 briefing
Spike TV’s announced it’ll be the exclusive broadcaster of the Microsoft E3 briefing in Los Angeles on June 6.

It’ll air live a 90 minute program known as “Xbox 360: The Future Revealed,” which will be shown on the channel as well as GameTrailers.com, Facebook, Xbox.com/E3, MTV.com, mobile platforms and on demand on Xbox Live. It’ll also air in Times Square, New York.
“We are excited to be back again this year working with Spike TV and MTV Networks to broadcast our E3 Media Briefing to millions of consumers around the world,” president of interactive entertainment at Microsoft, Don Mattrick.
“We encourage everyone to tune-in Monday as we world premiere our exclusive line-up of leading blockbuster games, showcase the next wave of innovation for Kinect and demonstrate new ways to experience the entertainment you love.”
Two games were name dropped for the press conference, Gears of War 3 and Forza Motorsport 4, but no other hints were provided in what else to expect. It follows a report from yesterday that cites ten non-sequel Kinect games will be shown at the event, with reveals of Dance Central 2 and Kinect Sports 2 also expected.
Microsoft’s E3 briefing will take place at the Galen Center on the campus of the University of Southern California from 9am PST (5pm BST) on Monday, June 6.

Totally overblown title aside, it’s nice to get this confirmed up front. Will it be showing ‘live’ on Live or available later? Do we know?

It’ll be streamed live all over the shop like IGN, GameSpot or whatever. This just means Spike will be the only lot to show it on TV.

Johnny you have it mixed up, both today and yesterday. It’s not “ten non-Kinect games”, it’s “ten non-sequel Kinect games”. Microsoft is all about Kinect now, there is no way they are going to announce games that dont use Kinect.

He’s right, y’know!
Well, about the quote, anyway. I don’t think for a minute that the Microsoft presentation will be entirely Kinect stuff. There’s no confirmation about who the ten games are coming from, so I’d surmise they’d not all internal Microsoft projects.

Microsoft seem to be hyping this conference up, maybe they have some good (non-kinect) exclusives to reveal.

The whole ‘Ten New Games’ Shtick actually has precedent for MS, since didn’t they pull a similar thing at E3 2009?

Yeah, it was like here is CoD, Fable and Gears montage video for 2 minutes. Now an hour of Kinect also, a free console for the jurno’s who already have tons of free stuff anyway.

@ minxamo
Don’t hold your breath! Expect MS to do the same as last year; give gamers a worthless show. What you can expect from their presentation: Forza, Gears of War. And maybe 1 or 2 yet unknown games that will be released not this year, somewhere fall ’12. Oh and maybe they’ll brag some more about their “amazing” CoD timed exclusivity DLC deal with Activision. But the most time consuming part of their presentation will be about their latest acquisition; Skype. They’ll try to convince people that acquiring Skype will benefit gamers greatly. Which of course it won’t, as to hardcore gamers it’s nothing more than a novelty item like the Kinect. So basically they won’t have much relevant to show to their gamers.

Johnny are there going to be any live streams this year online? Like for each conference?

They will probably focus a lot on Kinect but I really really really hope that they won’t. Last year was about the most boring presentation Microsoft has ever delivered at E3. More games less random people using Kinect to show off all the features that have nothing to do with games in the first place. :/
