Starbreeze: Darkness II dev switch not our call

Starbreeze has said it wasn’t its call to not do a Darkness sequel.

Digital Extremes is handling development of the sequel, with it due to launch this October for PS3, 360 and PC. Starbreeze said that it had just started work on a new project by the time Darkness II was greenlit.

“The decision was not up to Starbreeze, and when it was decided to do a sequel we had already started working on a new project,” Starbreeze CEO Mikael Nermark told CVG.

Starbreeze is currently at work on Project Redlime, thought to be a reboot of Syndicate, with EA Partners publishing the title.

I say it’s better this way, can’t wait forever for a new Darkness. And i like to see what a new developer can do with the brand.

The voice actor ‘switch’ for Jackie is more concerning. Big issue for me, Kirk Acevedo did a memorable performance, and hes excellent in Fringe :) Bad news :(

Im still happy we’re getting a sequel though and I will still 100% be getting this.

@ Hunam – Ive only seen up to the half way point in season 2 :( I was sick of waiting a full week for another episode.

I think season 4 will be the last, it only got renewed there by a ball hair, I’ll get the box set when it finishes and watch it from the beginning. Walter Bishop is a legend LMAO :)
