SEGA financials show profits doubling during its last fiscal year

SEGA has released its financials for its fiscal year ending March 31, and it shows the firm with profits up 104.8 percent to ¥41.5 billion ($515.5 million), and revenue up 3.1 percent to ¥396.7 billion ($4.9 billion).

Sonic Colours saw 2.1 million units moved, and Iron Man 2 moved 1.5 million units. Vanquish moved 830,000 copies, and Shogun 2 moved 600,000 units during its two weeks into the financial year.

The total for the firm's console and PC games division moved 18.7 million units with the breakdown as follows: The firm also revealed that 7.8 million in the US, 8.2 million in Europe and 2.6 million in Japan and other territories.

SEGA expects to sell 23.2 million units worldwide in its next financial year, with Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games as a highlighted big release and 20 3DS SKUs accounting for 4.15 million units.
