Portal 2 DLC #1 has more test chambers, leaderboards
Valve has announced the first game add-on for Portal 2, which is currently in development and targeted for a summer release.
The first DLC will include new test chambers, leaderboards, a challenge mode for single and multiplayer modes, and more.
Best of all, the DLC will be free on PC, Mac, Xbox 360, and PS3.
That’s all that was mentioned in the press release, so expect to hear more about it soon.

Oh wow!
Pumped for this.
Surprised to see that it’s free on 360. I expected it to be free on the other platforms, but not 360. I suppose Microsoft have had their hand forced given the outcry after paid for L4D DLC.

The L4D dlc cost because it added achievements, the majority of dlc that add’s achievements has to be paid for according to microsofts t&c’s for live i believe. Therefore this could be an indication that this dlc won’t have achievements?

Interesting.
Although it being free on PC, Mac and PS3 must have a little to do with it. Would Microsoft really want the Xbox to be the ONLY platform charging for it?

Someone on EG the other day mentioned that Valve got MS to let them put out free DLC after all. Maybe he was actually right.

FREE?
That says it all right there.
Valve steps up to the plate and hits a home run for the consumers!

Hmm, I think this dlc is free because it all sounds like stuff that should have been on the disc.

This here is EXACTLY how to approach DLC.
Activision, take some notes.

@7 Probably wouldn’t fit on the disc.
Besides it’s free, I should be hearing no complaining.

@10, I’m just saying man, things like leaderboards and a challenge mode don’t sound like dlc to me, it sounds like a post release patch. These things should have made it into the final game before the robot skin store or whatever it is imo.
