Sega confirms 2012 launch for Binary Domain, new trailer released

Sega’s confirmed it’ll launch Binary Domain in early 2012 for PS3 and 360 as well as releasing the first gameplay trailer for the game.

The title, being developed as a new IP from Yakuza creator, sees humans and machines at war in Tokyo 2080.

Players will need to encourage and build trust within its team, thrive under pressure and “make real time decisions knowing there will always be consequences that affect the squad and future missions.”

Watch the first gameplay trailer for the game and get new screens below.

It seems like they are making the baddies robots just so they don’t have to worry about programming decent AI.

Some parts in that trailer looked rather nice, we’ll see.

probably a generic Lost Planet clone. I still think Platinum made a huge mistake by not including multiplayer in Vanquish, that one would be much better with it.

Vanquish is like the only Japanese shooter that has ever had good controls and shooting.

Looks a lot like Vanquish – which I thoroughly enjoyed.

@3 – they definitely should’ve!

Heh. Who wants to bet that at least one of your team is secretly a robot?

Looks a lot better now than it did in December 2010′s trailer, that’s for sure.

Vanquish also had a decent camera, which isn’t always the case in JP tps attempts.

@1 – That makes no sense! They are robots, they should be master at strategy forming and executions!

From the trailer it seems that it at least has potential, probably turn out to be another badly executed hollow game though.
The cover system and general graphics reminds me a little of mass effect, not vanquish.
