EA COO Schappert leaves for Zynga

EA COO John Schappert has left the publisher to take an executive post at Farmville and Cityville developer Zynga, according to Reuters.

What position he will take up there is unknown.

An 8K form emailed by EA this morning confirmed that Schappert had tendered his resignation yesterday, April 25. His last day was also yesterday.

Schappert leaves his second spell at EA after leaving Microsoft as its corporate vice-president at the company's interactive business back in 2009. He originally joined the company back in 1991 as a software engineer.
