Uncharted 3 multiplay: beta dates, new movie, screens

Sony today confirmed dates and details of Uncharted 3's multiplaer. Sounds snappy. Get a new video, screens and info after the break.

It's now been confirmed that the Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta will begin for PS Plus subs an inFamous 2 buyers on June 28.

Everyone else will get in on the action on July 5.

The actioner's multiplay will integrate with YouTube, Twitter and Facebook, and allow players to message Facebook friends that aren't PSN subs.

It will feature a service called Uncharted TV - which will include features such as Plays of the Week - and a Cinema mode. Video will be postable to YouTube straight out of the game.

Players will be able to store up to 90 seconds of play locally, presumably in just one recorded. The footage is then editable using a suite of tools. You'll even be able to record your own voiceovers.

At the game's start-up menu, you'll be able to view a Facebook feed that shows friends playing and whether or not they've posted updates or videos.

Clips can be viewed without leaving the game.

"Our goal for Facebook is to really make sure you can interact with your Facebook friends the way you interact with your PSN friends," Christophe Balestra told ABC.

"You can talk to them and you can invite them to your party. You are going to see icons of people's faces and their real names. So right away it is going to feel bigger."

The game's multiplayer will feature a Buddy System, by which you can team up with other players to earn extra points. You high five your buddies, creating no doubt endless digital comedy.

The Buddy System includes Buddy Boosters, perks that grant cash and weapons.

The update allows you to spawn at a buddy's location after death.

Split-screen play is to be included, as are two new modes: a three-on-three team deathmatch and eight-player free-for-all.

The game releases on November 1.
