Best Buy puts Wii on sale for $169.99

While the rumored Wii price cut for May 15 is still around a month away, Best Buy has already put the console on sale, although it's not as cheap as the rumored price of $150.

Still, $169.99 is less expensive than the usual $199.99, but those in the market for Wii should hold off until May 15. That said, this may be a sign that the rumor is true. We'll just have to wait and see.

Nintendo has cut the price of Wii only once before, back in September 2009 when the console went from $249 to $199.

The rumored upcoming cut has added weight to a new Nintendo console to some folks' eyes, who believe the price cut is a move to help sell through existing Wii stock at retail.

Thanks, VentureBeat.
