PopCap revenue hits $100m for 2010, up almost 25%

The casual gaming giant posts impressive year-on-year figures. Plants and zombies rejoice.

Business Insider has reported how PopCap's revenue stream changed between 2005 and 2010. Back in 2005, 63% of the game company's revenue came from desktop sales, with online and console gaming making up just 3%. Fast-forward to 2010 and desktop gaming revenue dropped to 38% whilst online and console generated income jumped to 27%.

Revenue from mobile platforms remained at 34%. However, thanks in no small part to the sales of its products on Apple's appstore the Plants Vs Zombies and Bejewled developer developer saw a significant rise in the amount of cash generated by these platforms.

Full figures and plenty of slides detailing PopCap's revenue streams are available over on the Business Insider website but to sum up: graphs go up, everyone's happy.

Thanks, Gamasutra
