Fed up with sharing servers on Kaos Studios’ resistance-fighter FPS? Well, now you can manage and maintain your very own.

The details from the Homefront official site read:

“Digital Extremes and Kaos Studios are happy to announce the release of Homefront’s Dedicated Server Tool, which is currently available via Steam Tools (from the Steam client taskbar, click on “View” then “Tools”). With its easy to use graphical interface, players can now manage and maintain their very own server.”

Head over to the official site for the full list of features and options.

Homefront was was published by THQ and released in March for PC, PS3 and 360 to mixed reviews. THQ’s Danny Bilson said recently that he disagreed with the aggregated Metacritic score because “You can’t apply math to art”.

This should really help out the PC crowd. As I know a lot of PC gamers (myself included) won’t purchase a PC game for online play UNLESS it has dedicated servers.

@1 It has had dedicated servers from the start… but now with this tool, you can host your own instead of playing on one that is hosted by some sanctioned provider. Unless you have an insane internet connection, your own server will be laggy compared to an official one, but you have the power to tweak all the settings you want, add custom stuff, etc.
