Angry Birds PSN success revised

A Lazard Capital Markets analyst has apparently had to revise a previous statement claiming that Angry Birds had become the biggest selling download title of all time on PSN. Now it's the "most downloaded paid game through the PSN for January and February 2011”.

Industry site Develop had previously reported that a statement issued by Lazard analyst, Colin Sebastian, claimed that the charming game about furious fowl had become PSN's biggest seller of all time.

Develop has since reported that a corrected note from the analyst has clarified this statement, restricting the period of Angry Birds' success to "January and February 2011."

No sales figures were supplied for PSN in either case.

Angry Birds is thought to have cost Finnish developer Rovio $140,000 and been downloaded some 100 million times across numerous mobile platforms.
