Rumour – NGP pricing and name at E3, new Polyphony title before March 2012

Thursday, 7th April 2011 11:18 GMT By Johnny Cullen

A Gamekult forum poster has published supposed details about Sony’s E3 and beyond.

The poster is being seen as reliable by other sites, and has suggested that NGP’s pricing and actual name will be announced in LA come June, with seven first party titles also due to be announced at the show.

The post also says that the NGP project Kojima first mentioned back in January is actually a port of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

Apparently there’s another Metal Gear game coming in the future, although it isn’t mentioned if it’s for NGP or home consoles.

The poster is also claiming that Polyphony is working on something that will apparently release before March 2012, and that it intends to “make Europe a privilege for its next title,” which could suggest a gamescom announce in Cologne in August.

It adds that Sony will announce games at E3 for release in 2012, that a sequel to Warhawk will be announced before the show, and The Last Guardian, Twisted Metal and Uncharted 3 will all be playable on the showfloor.

Apparently, 37 titles are in the works across multiple platforms, although most of them are not going to be announced until a European event, most likely gamescom.

We’ve asked Sony for comment.

Thanks, GTPlanet and HookedGamers.

Well the guy is known to be from Sony France so I think if his leaks were more precise, he would not be at Sony anymore :p

I think my favourite leak ever was PSPgo. That was brilliant. And there was that Microsoft agency Forza 3 thing. People should make properly shocking errors more often.

If Sony try and pull the Gran Turismo card on PSP trick again, I’ll punch Sony’s nan in the face – the rest seems pretty logical though.

Off topic – PSP owners or Persona fans might want to enter Ghostlight’s Persona Figureine compo –

Sounds like Sony is planning to reveal most of its new stuff sometime after E3, going off this. Makes sense, seeing as this year is pretty much packed for them, anything they show at E3 will obviously be for 2012, so they may as well wait till later into the year to show the stuff.

Yeah sure, there are things in there that are pretty obvious, but certainly not everything. The PD title for one thing. Especially given how long it takes Polyphony to do anyhting.

i thought it was kinda obvious that pricing and name would be announced at E3.

From what I’ve played of, it’s a good wee game. Haven’t gone far enough in it so far to actually say it’s great, but it seems to be heading that way.

@18: i called tourist trophy 2 on ngp a long time ago in a forum, time will tell us if we are right :D

Poor ngp, ps3 fanboys hated the psp because they wanted every psp’s exclusive, now that ngp quality is so close to ps3′s one things will be worse.

I bought pw recently, great game but i have to admit that i prefer portable ops! LOL
In po i really loved going through bases with “traitors” in disguise, pw instead is a “normal” stealth.
In pw fulton makes the game easy disappearing bodies, in po instead you have to slowly carry bodies to the camion at the beginning of the level, with the enemies that can spot you, the prisoner that can awake and the protagonist that gets tired.
