Next Sonic game trailered, 360 and PS3 release this year

Wow, that looks… just like every other Sonic game ever.

The ‘classic’ Sonic design is clearly much better than the revised one. What were they thinking?

Bet its just as crap as the others.
They seriously just cant do anything with the series.
What are the sales like?

I’d always wondered what people were talking about when it came to criticising the Old vs. New designs of Sonic, but actually seeing them next to each other… wow.

Bet it’ll be great if you enjoy running in a line.

Looks pretty cool I guess. Will it get better reviews or sell more than most other Sonic games during the last decade? Probably not.

Well to tell you the truth i did enjoy sonic colours on wii, so if this on the same line iam interested.

Sonic Colours was actually pretty decent.

Sonic 2 was released on PSN yesterday and playing it again after all these years makes me remember how much of an amazing game it was… 15 years on and they cant even better it….. damn.

Considering their financial history, I’m guessing it wasn’t enough which is why they’re spreading out this time.

@11 This isn’t spreadout really. It’s only for the PS3 and 360 if you go by the trailer. There’s no Nintendo trademark anywhere at the end.

Sonic Colours was good and sold alright I guess but probably not enough for the budget. I’m semi-guessing this is going to be a massive compilation of the better Sonic games from 1 to colours remastered for HD (since technically the rereleases weren’t).

And the funniest bit, even this old Sonic isn’t enough for a lot. There’s a lot complaining about how the classic Sonic still doesn’t look right (despite one of common complaints about the eye colour actually being rectified here).

Sega can’t please them all. People just grew up and have the whole the past is great rose tinted glasses on (though 1-3 are still fun to play, Colours and the games on the gameboy advance were also good).

For me it’s not so much a case of being blinded by nostalgia (even though Chaos is still my favourite in the series) – I just don’t think Sonic translates well into 3D.

The Sonic Advance games (which aren’t that old) were amazing, and were just as good as 1-3 in terms of quality.

Anyway, when are we getting Sonic 4 part 2?
