Epic aiming for 1 million players in Gears 3 multiplayer beta

Gears of War 3 producer Rod Fergusson has said that developer Epic is aiming to have 1 million users for the game's upcoming multiplayer beta.

"I don't know if we necessarily have a target but our expectation is around the one million range - that's what we're thinking," Fergusson told CVG.

"We're not trying to set any records, we're not trying to beat anybody for highest number of players on a beta. We're just trying to get enough data to help us make a better game."

Gears of War 3's multiplayer beta kicks off on April 25 for those who've pre-ordered the game, or on April 18 if you own an Epic Edition of Bulletstorm.

Game itself releases worldwide on September 20 on 360.
