Lucasarts has announced it has hired Tomb Raider’s former creative and franchise director Tim Longo.

The ex-Crystal Dynamics man will serve as creative director on an unannounced project, the firm told Gamasutra.

Longo worked with Lucasarts previously on titled such as Star Wars: Starfighter and Jedi Starfighter as the games’ lead designer, and he was also Star Wars: Republic Commando’s creative director. He was even a playtester for X-Wing vs TIE fighter back in the late 90s.

A company statement said it was “thrilled to welcome him back to the Lucasarts family.”

Longo’s last Tomb Raider projects were Underworld and Anniversary.

Would also like another Battlefront spin off for the launch of the NGP & i don’t care about the 3DS but if they can manage it on there(physically they could, depending on their engine) & are able to make use of the 3D, then go ahead.

screw battlefront 3. it would be cool, but i found the gameplay was limited in adaptability. it was shoot this, stand here for a minute and take this command post, and then run and shoot this, and die and spawn…at least with RC there is room for making characters CUSTOMIZABLE (which we all know is a huge thing for FPS gamers today) and then make the commanding of the team, and make it co-op (three squad-mates), again multiplayer of any kind is huge in FPS today, and online MP gaming. the game provides awesome opportunity to make some sick cinematic and cut-scenes, and solid in game graphics.
use good story line, and make it a combination of call of duty (team or partner based FPS, more strategy involved, not like halo’s run-and-gun style), and Gears of war (hiding behind things), maybe throw in some deus ex, with the silent take downs and close quarters combat stuff.

and BAM a hit game with a huge buzz! if lucas arts had been taking more risks with games they may be making BETTER games. not this FORCE UNLEASHED CR!P, or LEGO star wars (if i see another lego something i may carve out my eyes) the only game that looks any good is SW1313 and even then that is ONE out of all the games since BF and RC…..common LA stop being lazy and get yourselves back at the TOP of the Gaming industry! where you belong and where we all know you CAN BE!!!!!

George Lucas doesn’t care about what the FANS want, he has his own agenda, its called MONEY!!!! so we can all plead and hope, but he never cared. he has even sold Lucas film to DISNEY of all people. the company that OVER DOES EVERYTHING. and now we (the fans that love this brand) and we who grew up with this series are going to watch Disney burn it to the ground!!!!
