Keiji Inafune forms two new companies

Former Capcom dev boss Keiji Inafune has announced the formation of two new companies: Intercept and Comcept.

Intercept is the one you’re probably interested in, as it’s main interest is game production. Inafune has said it’s his “new challenge for consumer game development.”

The company has three main aims:

  • Originality – Cannot be copied by others
  • Gravity – Has the power to pull people in
  • Beyond the Age – Things that cross eras

Comcept, meanwhile, will deal with forms of entertainment outside of games, such as videos and books.

Inafune, who left Capcom in October of last year, will give a streamable press conference on Monday.

Thanks, Andriasang.

Hmm, is planning on playing his own version of The Apprentice? Sounds like it with those names.

I don’t mind ‘Crapcom’, but they really need to modernize their games, both Resident Evil 5 & Dead Rising 2 suffered badly from poor control designs that should have been left in the PSOne era.

@3, that’s point 3, then – “Beyond the Age – Things that cross eras”. :-D

Controls/clunky fight animations were the least of my worries in DR2. I always tried hard not to fall asleep during the 1 hr loading screen. I salute you for not stating that one though :D

finally…i’ve been waiting for news about him

about making originally games, that would be hard and that is something Japanese gaming industry are too fund off.
However the guy is the one banging on about ‘change’ so seeing original games from his company should be true.
