Gameloft using Unreal Engine 3 for four new games

Mobile publisher Gameloft said yesterday that it’s licensed Unreal Engine 3 to create four new games, two to be released in 2011 and two in 2012. The identities of the projects were kept under wraps. The announcement came out of GDC, and Gameloft described the deal as “long-term, multi-platform”. Epic is using GDC to inform the trade about its next generation of middleware products.

Modnation Racers results in 2 million “creations”

Sony said last night that 2 million tracks, cars and whatever else have been created for PS3 kart game Modnation Racers since it released last May. The company is celebrating by releasing the game as a Greatest Hits title in the US for $30. A bunch of new, free DLC will be put out for the game this week. There’s more on the PS Blog.

Crysis 2 PC multiplayer demo out now

EA’s released the PC version of the Crysis 2 multiplayer demo – as promised – having previously shipped a beta exclusive to 360. You can get it now from Games.On.Net. A PS3 version is coming “soon“. The game ships on March 25.
