THQ holding fake anti-North Korean protest for Homefront

THQ’s confirmed details of a fake – again, fake – anti-North Korean protest ahead of the release of Homefront in a couple of weeks. The protest will take place in San Francisco, where “the march” will go across the Golden Gate Bridge and end at Yerba Buena Gardens. That just so happens to be across the street from the Moscone Centre and GDC.

Skyrim trailer now on Live

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim trailer first released last week is now available on Xbox Live for HD viewing. Get it here. It’ll cost you 138Mb, and shows in-game footage of, ironically enough, the 360 version.

The massively anticipated RPG ships in November for PC, 360 and PS3. Watch it again after the break if you can’t get to your console.

Good sports – MLB 2K11 and Top Spin 4 demos hit Live

Nelson’s sent word that both the MLB 2K11 and Top Spin 4 demos are now available on Live. The baseball taster allows you to play a three-inning game with the San Francisco Giants and Texas Rangers at AT&T Park, while tennis demo lets you take a tie-break match to seven points. Both games ship in March.

Dead Space 2: Severed out now on Xbox Live

EA’s launched Dead Space 2 DLC Severed on Xbox Live. It’s based on Extraction characters Gabe and Lexine, as he goes through the Sprawl to save her. Severed’s story acts in parallel with Issac’s story in the main game itself. The content, which you can queue up here, sets you back 560 MS points and is 1.43Gb in file size. PSN gets it tonight in the US and EU tomorrow.

Fable III: Traitor’s Keep out now on Xbox Live

Lionhead’s released the first DLC pack for Fable III, known as Traitor’s Keep. The pack, which will set you back 560 MS points, will feature three new levels: Ravenscar Keep, Clockwork Island, and the Godwin Estate. You’ll also take on new quests as well as meet “a mysterious prisoner.” Queue it up here. It’s at 815.39Mb.

Crysis 2 MP demo now available again on Xbox Live

EA’s released the multiplayer demo of Crysis 2 again on Xbox Live, having previously launching it and pulling it soon after. It comes in at 1.66Gb. You can download it from the Newest section of the demos area of Xbox Live, or you can queue it here. The new demo follows the release of the PC taster this morning. A PS3 demo is coming “soon”.

The shooter’s out on March 25 for PS3, 360 and PC.

SOE opens applications for 2011′s GIRL scholarship

SOE’s asking for applications for its annual GIRL scholarship. Win, and you get a “$10,000 scholarship award to be applied toward tuition, room and board and other education-related expenses at the postsecondary school at which the winner is enrolled”: you already need to be both a US student and resident on a games-related under-grad course to apply.

GIRL started in 2008 and is launched each year at GDC. Get full details here.

Motorstorm Apocalypse trailer brings the goods

GameSpot‘s put live a new trailer of Evolution off-roader Motorstorm Apocalypse. The trailer shows off garages blowing up, buildings collapsing and even trains being derailed. Might want to keep an eye on this. Seeing this at gamescom was awesome. Trailer’s below. Game’s out on March 18 for PS3.
