Dead or Alive: Dimensions to be distributed by Nintendo in Europe

Tecmo Koei’s confirmed that Nintendo will distribute Dead or Alive: Dimensions in Europe, as well as handling marketing and sales. TK will still publish the game in Europe. Nintendo entered into a similar deal with Capcom with Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition earlier this year.

Press release is here. Game’s out in May for 3DS, which launches in Europe on Friday.

DC Universe Online now available from US PSN

Sony’s released a digital version of DC Universe Online. The MMO, which became the fastest selling SOE game ever following its boxed release in January, is now on the PlayStation Store in the US for $59.99. The title allows you to create your own superhero to team up with or against known DC characters such as Batman, Superman, Joker or Lex Luthor. It recently received a Catwoman-themed update with a Two-Face update inbound in the near future.

Splinter Cell Trilogy US release delayed into June, UK launch within first-half 2011

Ubisoft’s delayed the release of the Splinter Cell Trilogy in the US. As per IGN, Originally due to release yesterday, it’ll now launch on June 21 for PS3.

Gameloft announces “Backstab” as Xperia Play timed-exclusive

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then Gameloft is every charming lady-killer stereotype ever rolled into one Old Spice-scented ball of suave. And so, fittingly, the mobile juggernaut’s wandering eye has now flitted over to the newest device on the dance floor, Sony’s Xperia Play.

More surprising, however, is the fact that Backstab – at least, at first glance – doesn’t appear to be a graduate from Gameloft’s School of Narrow Copyright Infringement Avoidance.

Rumour: Two Kojima Productions announcements for E3

According to PS3 Center, the latest issue of PSM3 reports the following rumour:

“MGS maestro Hideo Kojima’s got some big announcements for E3 in June: one a quasi-logical step for an existing game, the other… well, we’d be shocked if MGS5 wasn’t on the table at some stage. Or under it. In a box.”

Kojima Production’s known current projects include Metal Gear Solid: Rising; Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater for 3DS; a potential NGP Metal Gear game, and a mysterious “devil project“.

The company has taken on staff for “next generation” Metal Gear projects.
