Arrowhead teases Magicka multiplayer, Vietnam influences discussed

Magicka developer Arrowhead has revealed its inspiration for the upcoming Vietnam expansion, and teased the possibility of competitive multiplayer.

"We're big DICE fans, and we were sort of wondering how they'd take it when the press release went out," Arrowhead founder Johan Pilested, told Ten Ton Hammer, going on to comment on a link to the Magicka: Vietnam trailer that appeared on the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 webpage.

Other inspirations include Rambo, Metal Gear Solid, Apocalypse Now, Left 4 Dead, and even Lost - in the form of a mysterious hatch.

Real world references come across in contemporary weaponry - the M-60 returns, bringing with it the M-16, the RPG, the Mosin Nagant, and the AK-47.

Meanwhile, Unknown Gamer spotted a tease on the Magicka Twitter feed, calling for an achievement for beating an Arrowhead or Paradox staff member. This was immediately followed by a comment that "we need PvP for that ... we better build it right after Magicka Vietnam then".
