Report: More cuts at Disney Interactive

Disney Interactive is reported to have cut a further 80 jobs as part of its ongoing restructure.

Paid Content reports the new layoffs, in combination with around 200 in January, suggest the division has shed seven percent of its former staff.

Disney Interactive has released a statement describing the layoofs as “targeted”, and “part of setting a strategic direction for future success in digital media”.

Both series of cuts have come under the rule of co-presidents John Pleasants and James Pitaro, who recently promised to attain profitability within the Interactive division by 2013.

Warren Spector’s Junction Point and Tron developer Propaganda saw major cuts in January, with the latter closing down altogether.

Thanks, Gamespot.

Is any publisher actually profitable at the moment?

I know their year on years are up… but actual profit?

Egads, there’ll be nobody left before long! The mouse is a cruel taskmaster, don’t be fooled by the squeaky voice.

Does anyone know how Black Rock are doing? I’d hate it if those guys were disbanded :(
