PAX East sees 69,000 visitors, 2012 event dated

Penny Arcade has confirmed that 69,000 visitors hit this year's PAX East in Boston, up by 19,000 from last year.

The figures were announced by Big Download. This year's event was held in the bigger Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in comparison to the smaller Hynes Convention Center last year.

"The venue we have this year is massive - it's legitimately 2-3x larger than last year's venue, so the amount of breathing room was fantastic," said Penny Arcade business head, Robert Khoo.

"I didn't hear a single complaint about overcrowding. I never thought I would see the day."

Next year's event will take place between April 7-9.
