Metacritic adds iOS section
The slow-turning weathervane of the industry, Metacritic, has added a category for iOS games to its line up.

The top ranked game in the newly-launched section is World of Goo, with a metascore of 96 based on ten reviews.
Other notable high-ranking entries include Dead Space, NBA Jam, Tiny Wings, and Hot Springs Story.
A collection of other lesser-known titles have accumulated a surprising number of reviews and reached the higher ranks, which suggests this may be the app hunter’s new go-to for hidden game gems.
Thanks, CVG.

I wouldn’t say huge. Apple has a huge marketshare of game capable devices. This would more huge if it were ipad exclusive or something. I would put money on it that with android 2.3 around the corner, we will see android giving its own category. I mean with the xperia play and the rumored playstation certified tablet coming out, and there whole “playstation suite” with the ngp. Not to mention the gaming potential google has promised seperate from sony. I guess we ought to get used to mobile gaming clogging up our news feeds from now on.
