Analyst: Kinect bundles outsold Move 5:1 in February

I haven’t bought a move because all the bundles suck. SOCOM 4 sharpshooter bundle is sure as hell going to change that real soon though… this is sad more proof that gimmicks drive sales… sigh.

Well, at our retail store I noticed that during the month of February we weren’t really receiving non-kinect bundled 360s. Neither were the other stores in our district.
We were getting 360s shipped to us, but they were about 80%-90% kinect bundles. In the latter half of the month we started doing some system searches and found that the basic systems weren’t available anywhere in the district, but everyone had kinect bundles.

It kinda makes me believe they were forcing Kinect bundle sales by making standard units scarce.

Sony really failed with the Move product.

No decent software for it and it’s just a gimmick dildo. Maybe with game like We Dare it will sell./JK

Kinect also is a gimmick, but with 500 million marketing campaign, decent CASUAL software and the idea that feels fresh.

Sony, just get out of the industry already (Just don’t forget to release NGP with some good games please and don’t forget about supporting it.)

The kinect is stupid with no viable hardcore game market. Where as the shapshooter bundle can bring a great arcade style shooter expirence. Im down for that.

Hmm didn’t know I stopped being a hardcore gamer when I bought my “glowing dildo”. Still puttin in 20-40hrs a week on 3-5 games? I think so! Is move apart of these games? I think so. I definetly appreciate my glowing dildo while I’m playing dead space extraction. You know that move game I got when I bought dead space 2? Yeah such a casual gamer I am. I’m not falling for any of this motion controller shit, but I’d definitely think about getting a Move bundle if someone were to make a AAA RPG to make use of it, something like Starwars would be killer, the move is perfect for both swords & guns so it’s a natural fit.

Dude I’m only able to do it because I work 4 days a week and spend most of my time in the house with my wife and newborn. 40 is a very good weekend!(combined with time played after work 3-4 hours mon-Thursday.

@16 Asking for a RPG with Move seems an oxymoron to me. Although playing a SW game with Move sounds great, I think it would be a better action game than a full fledged RPG.

I could see a rpg with move capabilities to be quite awesome. But of course that would have been if they made the nav controller a glowing dildo aswell. That way we could walk open worlds with swords and sheilds in our hands. Holy shit I think im on to something. Sony r&d better read this. Just make the glowing dildo and nav a two in one controller for 3d world exploration. I could see all sorts of aftermarket items lime the sharpshooter too. Things likes staffs and maybe some sort of power gauntlet? Huh? Huh?

I played a Kinect for the first time today, and it simply wasn’t fun. It might be a better workout than any other motion controller, but that’s not why I play a game. I think they’re definitely onto something with the technology, but it needs to be seriously refined, and it really does lack a physical interface.

Move is a lot more familiar, but I’m wondering how a more precise Wiimote will feel. It’s hard to point at an exact spot on the tv from your couch, which is probably why tv remotes are so imprecise. Either way, it looks to me like Sony would have an easier time making fun games for that, than Microsoft will for the Kinect.

It makes you gay if they touch you then cross touch.lol actually its kinda impressive how the pointer works for move. Its not like the wii mote. Imagine a wii mote mixed with a mouse then you have move. Its honestly much different then what people clamour about and knock. Honestly its like a mouse, I’ve been sitting on the couch playing dead space extraction with 0 problems.

The games distance runs between 3-8feet. 3 feet is the usual standard for playing more strenous and time consuming games. Where 8 feet is idle for any game that requires space. I was surprised greatly of how easy it was to play fps and rail games with move. I think move when mastered by the fps person would be like mouse versus controller. I see why move players with kz3 and mag are split from regular players

Yes. The move is surprisingly accurate. It really makes an incredible difference. The ONLY issue I have with the Move is if you move the orb out of sight of the eye then it wants to get a little picky. But I can’t wait to purchase the SOCOM 4 sharpshooter bundle! I can imagine the fun it is gonna bring me.

What decent games does Kinect have? Someone inform me cause I don’t know. Move on the other hand has Killzone 3, Sports Champions, Dead Space Extraction and also heroes on the move, sorcery and SOCOM 4 coming up. come on? Kinect is the device which really needs games.

It really doesn’t matter Joe. M$ did what it does best and used marketing power to trick consumers into buying it. Some people probably feel dumb after the fact because the games are either

A. too short and lose the fun factor quick

B. Don’t have enough room in their house/apt to use properly

C. realize its just a glorified eyetoy

I’m sure most have convinced themselves that the camera following you around the room while you chat to your buddies over LIVE was worth the price alone. But #2 is right. Every time I go in the stores and to the electronic departments there are only Kinect bundles. Sony has like 3 different bundles which confuses the hell out of the consumers so its their fault why MOVE isn’t probably doing so well.

Well i think this is has to do with the consumers opinions, when he sees a Move controller, it directly says a nintendo knock off, basecally is almost the same thing, one device on one hand, and the nunchuck thing on the other hand, while the kinect seems new and different to wii, you dont need anything only your body, i thing thats the main reason, most of the consumers wants the new thing, and the move just calls nintendo wii motion controllers with a glowing ball.
P.D and maybe most of this consumers already have a wii/360, therefore they go with the kinect.

^ then they go home and about 2 weeks the thing is sitting there collecting dust. There is nothing so thrilling new about Kinect and only ignorant consumers are oblivious to that. Once again SONY should have done a better job last gen making more games for the eyetoy and continuing that genre onto the PS3. Only one game takes full advantage of the PlayStation eye which is Eye of Judgment. Those PSN games are just tech demos.

Yeah eye of judgement kinda showed that the pseye could scan items and put them on screen. I wonder when we will see more like eye of judgement

Mine is red when i play KZ3, i call dibbs on the Red Ranger…he was the best by far. He is the one that beat Green Ranger on his own remember.

Never probably because it didn’t sell well. SONY fucked up with eyetoy big time imo. They could have the market M$ are going after right now if they just put out decent software for the PS eye even despite the Kinect being better. The average consumer wouldn’t have cared or known….but I guess SONY wasn’t counting on M$ buying third party tech from a jewish company to come up with a copy cat product that was superior.

Anyway SONY better advertise the shit out of sorcery since I think its the only thing thats going to get more of the wii kids into MOVE and they better be looking for a summer launch with heavy advertising starting in MAY or JUNE.

Hell I’m glad I get to play ps3 games and wii games on 1 system without buying for 2. Ill be able to get no more heros, sorcery, time crisis(which is one of my favorite series) and many more to come.
