Dragon Age’s optional upgrade spruces PC textures

Tuesday, 8th March 2011 04:47 GMT By Brenna Hillier

BioWare has released an optional upgrade for the PC version of Dragon Age II, jam-packed with high resolution textures.

The texture pack patch is available from the BioWare Social Network, and weighs in at over 1 GB.

Once downloaded and installed, the texture pack must be enabled from the game’s options menu.

BioWare recommend a graphics card with 1024 MB of memory and DirectX 11 for best result.

Graphical under-performance was one of the few recurring criticisms of Dragon Age: Origins when it released in November 2009. The super shiny sequel arrives in the US today and almost everywhere else on March 11.

Thanks, Eurogamer.

There’s a…. what? This is for the game that’s not even out yet? This is possibly the most bizarre thing since bizarre things were invented.

I’ve pre-loaded the steam version and was shocked by how small it was. Only 5.5gb roughly, DA1 from steam clocked in at about 16gb! I assumed the was going to look as empty as the demo :(
I though it maybe that we get same lo-rez textures as consoles
