Rift launches in the US, hits UK on Friday

Trion MMO Rift goes live in the US today, and will be followed with a European release later in the week.

Rift is now on sale at "select North American retail and digital outlets," and will be available in Australia on Wednesday, pan-European countries on Thursday, and in the UK on Friday.

The fantasy MMO is catching a lot of attention today.

In Rift, the world of Telara is under siege from eight primal forces after "the magical ward protecting the planet shatters." Joining either the "technomagical Defiant or divinely-appointed Guardians," players assume the role of an Ascended hero brought back from the dead to fight the planar invaders and save Telara.

Sweet. The Standard Edition, Digital Collector’s Edition, and Retail Collector’s Edition sell for £34.99, £39.99 and £49.99, respectively.

Buy it digitally at the official site.

The standard monthly subscription rate for the title is £8.99. Trion is also offering a limited-time “Founder’s Pricing” plan, featuring a £5.99 per month price for a multi-month subscription.
