We Dare won’t make US release
We Dare – Ubisoft’s ass-slapping, women-kissing PR disaster – won’t release in the US, IGN reports.

Following a promo video which generated enough activity to power a small town last week, Ubisoft has “emphatically” told the site that the game will “absolutely not see release in the United States.”
We Dare is, apparently, an after dinner couples game in which people are supposed to literally put a Wiimote down their pants and “spank” women.
The game’s teaser video provoked a hilarious reaction from the press – it’s now only viewable in Europe on Youtube. Too racey for America, clearly.
What’s that? Of course you can. Get it below.

How is it a PR ‘disaster’, exactly? From where Ubisoft is sitting, this controversy must look juuuuuuuust fine.

I actually saw this game for preorder some time ago and assumed it was only coming out in France, what with it being a Ubi game about what its about.
The name is quite different here, too.

Honestly, if you need a Wii game to get your orgy going, you shouldn’t really be bothering with it in the first place.
Something tells me this is aimed mostly at adventurous 15-18 year olds who are too awkward with sex to really get there any other way.
Oh, and could they make a gayer commercial than that, seriously?
You really want a dude who takes himself seriously enough to actually wear a vest to a social gathering to be in on your orgy. And you definitely wouldn’t want to pressure any of the women into taking their tops off at any point in time. And seriously, the lack of a gimp suit ruins any credibility that spot might’ve had. I cannot relate.

@8: So no need to hide the fact that the Move Controller looks like a dildo, now it can be used as such.
To topic: Really, no surprise there. Americans seem to hate everything that has to do with T&A.

So… Are you all being ironic or are some people really considering buying it? Cause I’m trying hard but I can’t think of any interest for this game. I’m sorry but I gotta agree with DSB here: “Honestly, if you need a Wii game to get your orgy going, you shouldn’t really be bothering with it in the first place.”

It’s the sort of game you put on after you have a couples dinner party and everyone has had a little too much wine. It’s not about getting people laid, it’s about having a bit of cheeky fun, and then when you get back home, well, then you’re both kinda revved up and then have some sex.
