Quick Shots – 10 new screens released for Silent Hill: Downpour
Some new screenshots have been released for Silent Hill: Downpour.

Vatra Games’ new entry into the franchise stars an escaped prisoner named Murphy Pendleton, who unwittingly arrives in the town of Silent Hill after his prison bus crashes.
Silent Hill: Downpour will release for PS3 and Xbox 360 this autumn.

If you look at the other shots I think you will discover that he is from vault RS 273A. Apparently, before leaving, he was required to be doused in cooking oil.

So now they do not only copy the elements old Silent Hill games had, but they copy the characters’ looks. Great, just great. Bring back Silent Hill to Japan so it starts being what was actually (a great game) and not some kind of mediocre horror game wannabe with an awful movie just behind.

I can’t judge the game, its a different team and they have the guy who does the soundtrack for Dexter which shows some potential also the devs saying it won’t be like the last game. So I am looking forward to this not as much as DA2, Skyrim, Witcher 2, and ME 3 but the curiosity and hope for it is still there.

Some of the environments look really nice, if a little ‘sharp’. Still need convincing on the characters, though. A couple of those shots are definitely ‘concept art’, too.
