Rockstar releases LA Noire boxart, US pre-order info
Rockstar’s released the boxart for LA Noire. It’s swanky stuff. So’s the swag you’ll score with a pre-order.

You can find both versions of the art for PS3 and 360 below.
Rockstar’s US arm has released details of pre-oder incentives available at Amazon, BestBuy, Wal-Mart, Gamestop and EB Games – the latter two offering the same bonuses.
Statistic-boosting outfits, extra cases and a special challenge are all on offer across the various retailers, with Wal-Mart offering it’s exclusive in store on launch day as well as with web pre-orders.
Get the full run down below. LA Noire releases on May 17 in the US and May 20 in the UK for PS3 and 360.
AMAZON.com (Pre-Order):
“The Broderick” Detective Suit boosts your fist-fighting capabilities and resilience to damage. Throughout L.A. Noire while working cases, you’ll encounter quite a few suspects and persons of interest who prove to be resistant to arrest. Your hand-to-hand fighting skills will be called into action on these cases – the Broderick suit with its enhanced fighting abilities may be that edge in helping make that collar.
BEST BUY (Pre-Order)
“The Sharpshooter” Detective Suit enhances your aim with rifles and pistols. Always a worst case scenario for any detective working a case, there are of course those occasions for Cole Phelps when pursuing a suspect escalates to gunfire. In these tense shootouts, the Sharpshooter suit provides that extra aiming precision to take the criminal down.
WAL-MART (Web Pre-Order or In-store Purchase on May 17)
“A Slip of the Tongue” Traffic Case is a bonus case from the Traffic Desk in which a seemingly run of the mill car theft ends up sparking an explosive investigation into the largest auto fraud racket the city has ever seen. With the stolen cars piling up and questionable characters at every turn, can you help Cole Phelps crack the biggest case so far in his career?
GAMESTOP and EB Games (Pre-Order)
‘The Naked City’ Vice Case
In this bonus case from L.A. Noire’s Vice Desk, detective Cole Phelps investigates the supposed suicide of a stunning fashion model. Can you help Cole unravel the truth in a city blighted by drugs, corruption and greed, where the death of a beautiful woman is never as straightforward as it seems?
The Badge Pursuit Challenge
Hidden around L.A. Noire’s beautiful recreation of 1947 Los Angeles are 20 police badges to find and collect. If you can find all 20 of these badges, the dapper Button Man suit will be unlocked which provides extra ammo for all weapons. Each badge also provides 5 additional XP which will help further unlock Intuition Points – special credits that can be used to give Phelps a key investigative insight when you need it most.

I will be picking this up on the 360 guys, rockstar tend to make the multiplatform games on the 360 a little bit better, (red dead and gran theft auto iv come to mind).

@8 You know the term noir has nothing to do with colour, but the theme & content of the story right?

You know, I kind of wish they’d dropped that extra ‘e’ on the end of the title. It’s a bit annoying now.

Yeah, Max Payne 3 looks like shit. Well disappointed in the direction they have gone with that. Max Payne 2 is one of my favourite ever games.

The box art is a bit eh. Well it’s Noir and all you need is minimalism for a boxart really in that genre. Something like this could be appropriate –> http://oi55.tinypic.com/2qhzwi8.jpg
But I guess just like how some people film these days every frame needs to be filled to the brim.

Good boxart
On the blue-orange thing: there’s a thing called “circle of colors”(i’m not english so i don’t know if it’s the right english name) that visualize best color contrasts, they are red-green, yellow-violet, blue-orange and so on…

The woman’s face is taking a little too much space there. Good cover, but would have preferred something like #5′s,
