Darth Sidious to appear in Lego Star Wars III [Update]

It doesn't seem the most likely venue for he-who-is-synonymous-with-evil, but Darth Sidious will make an appearance in Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars.

The initial mail-out stated that Sidious was ready to offer his services to players good and bad, but didn't make it clear whether the Emperor is actually playable or not. We're following up.

The press release took the time to remind us about the game's browser-based tie in on LegoStarWars.com, in which Sidious also features an an unlockable character. They gave us the password, but we're not sharing. Pew pew pew!

Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars releases on practically everything - including 3DS - at the end of March.

[Update] PR has confirmed that Sidious will appear as a fully playable, unlockable character.

Additionally, the game's demo has hit the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, and will arrive on the PlayStation Network as each territories local weekly update goes live.
