OXM was primed to reveal “reborn” 360 title considered one of the “best games ever made”
According to the latest issue of OXM UK a classic game is set to be “reborn” on Xbox 360, and the magazine was primed to get the official reveal in April. Unfortunately, though, the whole thing’s now been delayed – and no, it’s not the rumored HALO: Combat Evolved revamp.
Per CVG, it is unknown if the game is going to be an Xbox 360-exclusive or not, as OXM hasn’t said, only that the reveal is exclusive to the magazine. It even teases a blue background with what appears to either a map or blueprints for a building.
OXM did, however, reveal that a couple of comments on CVG got the guess right but would not say which one was correct. The original post has folks guessing it was either Syndicate or Rainbow 6. There’s more guesses in there, though.
“It has been correctly identified in the CVG comments thread, though,” said magazine editor Jon Hicks. “I’m impressed – although I still can’t reveal which one of the guesses are right.”
However, it appears that the reveal has been officially pushed back by the game’s publisher and “is very unlikely to appear in the magazine for the forseeable future,” according to Hicks.

That blue background does look very similar to the city layouts of Syndicate.
Will probably be a third person shooter of some kind.

Isn’t Starbreeze almost-confirmed to be working on a new Syndicate? Seems to be in line with the guesses. I thought they were going to announce whatever they were working on right about now, but I haven’t heard anything in a while. So if they’ve pushed back the reveal, it’s only logical that the OXM reveal was pushed back too.
On the other hand, I don’t remember when Starbreeze were to reveal the game, so maybe they aren’t late at all and have nothing to do with the OXM reveal.

“was” primed? I don’t get the title. It seems to suggest that they’re no longer going to reveal it, but the article suggests otherwise.

No games on xbox 360 gets hd remake, hd remake is only possible on ps3:P
but that’s about to change now, the game can either be Blinx Time sweeper or Halo Combat Evolved.

Unfortunately, it looks like readers will have to wait until OXM issue 72, which will hit stores in April, to find out what it is – as the game’s publisher has pushed back its announcement.
April ain’t that bad.

VG247 has the info wrong too. CVG is not talking about a Xbox game, but just a triple A title. So in april we will know. However…i am wrong about something too. CVG has that update too saying it has been delayed …so not even april.

@27 If you read the full post it notes everything you just said. Plus I mailed Jon at OXM and he said “the reveal is no longer happening in our issue on-sale 10th March – I can’t say when we’ll be able to cover it beyond that.”

I tried to play a bit of Syndicate a few months back and… it hasn’t aged very well. The idea is still awesome, though – a decent remake would definitely interest me.

I really hope it’s either Syndicate, Rainbow Six, Counter-Strike, or S.W.A.T. like one of the later posts said on there. But unfortunately, I feel like if they knew about it and have been trying to get access to it it’s probably something boring like Beyond Good & Evil 2. And it’s obviously not Halo:CE since they confirmed it’s not that, which will probably still come out this fall.
