Duke Nukem Forever hits Australia unedited

2K Australia has confirmed that the Australian release of Duke Nukem Forever, recently awarded an MA 15+ rating by the Classifications Board, has not been edited in any way.

The publisher’s local arm sent out a new version of the game’s box art this morning, complete with ratings advisory.

“To answer your next question, NO, this game has not been edited in any way for an Australian release,” a 2K representative confirmed in the email.

Australia lacks any video games classification category higher than MA 15+; consequently local gamers often receive edited or “toned down” versions of controversial titles – if publishers make the effort to release at all.

Duke Nukem Forever will release in Australia for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 6.

Thanks, GamePron.

Hell yeah!

The OFLC submission doesn’t mention nudity though… and that’s something that’s all over the trailers.

This is nice, glad our fellow gamers at AU will be able to enjoy the game like the rest of the DN fans.
