Apple TV games hinted at in iOS 4.3 beta code
If a bit of code found in the beta version of iOS 4.3 is indication, it looks like Apple is setting up to have games on Apple TV.

Engadget‘s discovered bits of code discovered in the beta like “ATVGames” or “ATVThunder” towards a controller, leaderboards like GameCenter, scheduling games and a “store front” according to the site.
It also reckons that Apple might look at streaming games in a similar way OnLive does.
There’s more on it at the link.

Not sure how you will play games unless you use iPhone or purchase a game controller which would have to ship with future AppleTV’s to be viable in the long run.
FYI that picture is of the old discontinued AppleTV v1 which wont be getting any of these features, the current AppleTV v2 is a small black box.

That’d be great. I was wondering why gaming wasn’t available at launch.
