First LA Noire gameplay video is go

Rockstar’s released the first in a series of gameplay videos for LA Noire. It’s after the break.

The video shows off the PS3 version of the game with shootouts, investigations, hand-to-hand combat, chasing suspects and more.

The Team Bondi title, five years in development, releases on May 17 in the US and May 20 in the UK for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Well, that looks kind of awesome. More GTA than I was expecting (and, I suspect, more than some people were hoping) but super-interesting.

The faces are phenomenal, there’s just the odd occasion where they look like they’ve been super-imposed onto the character models, but on the whole – wow!

Very much looking forward to this now.

Wow, as soon as i saw the character walking around it reminded me of RDR. No way that Rockstar is only the publisher on this, i just don’t believe that :)

I am downloading the trailer of Rockstar’s site, the buffering goes way too slow,so i’ma download it.

Nope, it really ain’t a bad thing at all. It’s gonna be great to have this much variety, shootouts,carchases,but also the interrogations,the puzzles/clue-finding etc…great!!!!

I figured as as much, pretty much a GTA, mafia 2.the saboteur. It’s not a new genre it’s a new theme, which is Hollywood age.

I’m not impressed!

not really, it’s heavily used in games such as Uncharted 2/3, heavy rain.

noir just uses a better tech in facial capture

the genre is still a sand box game genre with pretty graphics! Mass effect is an rpg genre. Mass effect pretty much has facial expressions.

I’m curious about one thing… is it going to be possible to fail a case? I mean, these tools are great, but they’ll be meaningless if you can’t actually impact the outcome of a case.

I cant wait for it. It looks pretty and voice acting seems solid from the video anyways.

Kinda looks like a heavy rain mix of choices etc with the mafia/GTA style acting

should be sweet :)
