Taylor: Kings and Castles “on hold”

Saturday, 5th February 2011 09:47 GMT By Patrick Garratt

Gas Powered’s founder and CEO Chris Taylor has told Big Download that his Kings and Castles project is now on the backburner.

Kings and Castles’ E3 2010 trailer.

“We’ve put the project on hold for now, but the moment I know more I will let you know,” said Taylor in an email.

“I can’t go into those details just yet… Let’s call it a ‘timing’ thing.”

The RTS was announced in February last year.

Kings and Castles was described as “an epic real-time strategy game for the PC and next-generation consoles,” and a “one-of-a-kind experience will let players take on the role of one of three powerful kings who are vying for control of an all-new, original fantasy world.”

Key features were said to be the ability to zoom to any level, “incredible maps, and eye-popping visuals that will run on a wide range of systems.”

The game was shown at E3 last year in trailer form, and looked far beyond the “having a think about it” phase.

Never more. Maybe. Watch the game’s first video diary from last year below. There are 35 more of these on the game’s site.

There are actually 35 video blogs and this game looked very exciting to say the least, taking the best from SupCom: FA, SupCom 2 and Demigod. What a pity. :(
