Angry Birds series heading to 3DS

Rovio has confirmed via Twitter it is to release Angry Birds on 3DS.

In a conversation with 3DSFocus on Twitter, Rovio said the game would be made available on WiiWare and 3DS "later in the year," and further confirmed plans to bring all three Angry Birds games to the 3DS as digital downloads.

This includes the firm's latest, which is a movie tie-in, Angry Birds Rio.

The Wii version has been in the pipeline for quite some time, as well as the XBLA version.

Rovio released the game on PSN in early January.
