Report: New Halo: Reach add-on coming “very soon,” says Nelson

Thursday, 3rd February 2011 14:07 GMT By Johnny Cullen

Major Nelson has hinted that a second add-on pack for Halo Reach is on the horizon.

Apparently speaking in an Inside Xbox video, Nelson drops the news whilst discussing the Bungie shooter.

Only one map pack have been available thus far for the game, the Noble Map Pack.

Thanks, TSA.

No really, I have an Xbox 360, and I could care less about Halo.
It’s been downhill ever since Halo 2 imo. *shrugs*

i´m glad to take the bait: halo reach is one of the – if not the – best fps on consoles this gen. you can love or hate halo but still it is a technical masterpiece with supersolid gameplay mechanics. kz 1 was pretty mediocore but not that good. i really liked and enjoyed kz2 but more because it just looked so awesome. story was very very very flat and gameplay was close to broken imo because of the lag. but opinions differ a lot about that and thats ok. they fixed it anyway this time. i´m curious to find out how the final product will turn out to be…but much more real halo killer potential playstationwise has resistance 3 imo, just because insomniac almost nailed the gameplay in 2. then again: a killer in sales none of them will probably become…still i´m done with halo after noble pack and happy to get some fresh fps action rather than dlc…

How is Halo a “technical masterpiece” in any regard? Halo Reach looks ‘ok’ but it would be better if it looked ‘ok’ and actually run properly without frame rate drops.

I assume you’re definition of “technical masterpiece” means something else. Because in the usual sense, Halo aint one.

Have to laugh at fanboys arguing over *exclusives*. If you’ve only got a 360 wtf do you care about Killzone for? I’ve only got a ps3 at the mo, you think I’m gonna get butthurt over Halo? I could give a shit.

    @ 9

I would like to take a look at two of the titles on the list. KZ2 has been infamous for its poor control set up and game play. The second, Modern Warfare 2, while originally a good game, was left to die by its studio infinity ward. All the glitches and extremely unbalanced guns made it unbearable to play online, It basically rode the coat tails of COD 4.

On to Halo: Reach. It has superb controls the are arguebly the best in any console shooter (the other competitor being the COD series, definitely KZ 1 or 2 and probably not 3). While Reach loses some frames it is because of the huge expanse that is Forge World and customization that can be had there. No other console FPS has anything close to Halo brings to the table. I would also argue that Bungie is in the elite few of studios who not only ship well made games but care about the game and its community years after it ships (the other top to are Blizzard and Valve.)
