Crytek: Crysis 2 minimum tech specs "not official or final"

A Crytek spokesperson has stated that yesterday's set of purported minimum specifications for the PC version of Crysis 2 are unofficial and unfinalised.

"These minimum specs are not official or final," wrote community manager Cry-Tom on the game's official forum.

"We'll have an announcement about this soon. Please note if you didn't hear it from me/see it on MyCrysis, then it's not official," he concluded.

The questionable specifications were released on the game's official German Facebook page and translated by Geforce. The original Facebook post seems to have been removed in the meantime.

The rumoured "system requirements" were:

  • Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon 64 X2 2GHz or better
  • Nvidia 8800 GT or higher
  • 2 GB RAM
  • Windows XP/Vista/7
  • 9 GB free hard disk space
  • Internet connection

Crytek recently confirmed that the PC version of Crysis 2 will come with DirectX 11 support.

The game recently got an exclusive Xbox 360 multiplayer demo, but Crytek has since assured there'll be a pre-launch demo for PC.

Crysis 2 releases on March 22 in NA and March 25 in Europe for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Thanks, Tim.
