Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 requires always-on DRM

Don’t go knocking your router out halfway through a level of the newly-released Bionic Commando Rearmed 2. Capcom have chosen to protect the retro side-scroller with the most hated form of DRM.

The game’s product page on the PlayStation Store is quite clear, requiring a log-in to the PlayStation Network at every play session.

Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 does support multiplayer – but not online.

Don’t blame custom PS3 firmware for this one: this isn’t Capcom’s first PSN title to utilise the much-derided always-on DRM. Final Fight: Double Impact was revealed to sport the same system in April of last year.

Thanks, Joystiq.

Fair enough. At least the PS3 gets a sequel. They’ll be no Capcom PC games this year at all.
