Next RIFT beta event starts January 25 as players log over one million hours

Trion has announced that the next phase of the Rift beta will go live on January 25 and will end on January 28, and that so far, beta testers have logged over one million hours during the last beta event, Warfronts.

Bethesda court filings claim Interplay “is wrong” to use Fallout assets in its MMO

Bethesda argued in court filings yesterday that its Fallout MMO licensing agreement with Interplay was clear-cut, and Interplay cannot legally use anything pertaining to the franchise, other than the name ‘Fallout” and is violating this agreement by using assets from the Fallout universe.

Microsoft files opposition with USPTO over Apple’s App Store trademark application

Microsoft as filed a motion for summary judgment with the US Patent and Trademark Office over Apple’s application to trademark the term “App Store”. According to the filing, Microsoft believes App Store is considered a generic term and competitors other than Apple should have free rein to use it.
