3DS infosplosion aftershock: Mii importing, eShop details, parental controls

The last 24 hours have seen the gaming news-o-blog-o-tweet-o-tube-o-sphere erupt with 3DS details, showering panicked readers with large chunks of concrete info. Needless to say, it’s been pretty darn gruesome – and only a little bit hilarious.
We, however, have continued to dig through the resulting ocean of ash and fanboy sweat, and here’s what we’ve uncovered.

Report – Australian 3DS presser to take place on February 8

The 3DS news will never end. Gamespot’s reporting that Nintendo Australia is set to hold its own press conference for the handheld on February 8.

Sims 3D shots feature sims in 3D

Following yesterday’s 3DS info-vomit for the US and Europe, EA’s bunged out some shots of The Sims 3 for the machine.
This is listed as one of the “launch period” titles, so you’ll be playing this before E3 in June.

First Dead Space 2 iPhone trailer pops out, shouts “boo,” repeats

EA’s released a trailer of its iThing iteration of Dead Space, and we’d be lying if we said we weren’t impressed. Classic Dead Space dismemberment and visceral swipe-based melee attacks are at the top of the menu today, resulting in a tiny game that looks to pack a pretty big punch.
The trailer is, however, missing any real downtime, so it’s tough to judge how well Dead Space’s suffocating “outer space is trying to murder me” atmosphere holds up. See the full thing for yourself after the break.
