BioWare explains how Flashpoints work in SWTOR

BioWare has detailed Flashpoints for Star Wars: The Old Republic over on the official website, and even posted a video to go along with it.

Flashpoints are "action-packed, story-driven adventures that test a group of players to their limits," where groups of adventurers must use not only their wits and skills, but all their resources to attain victory.

According to the developer, every Flashpoint begins with "an exciting story and contains difficult decisions."

"Choose carefully, because your group’s choices have a meaningful impact on the challenges you’ll face, the enemies you’ll fight, and the outcome of the story," reads the entry. "All the danger is certainly worthwhile; the rewards from Flashpoints are some of the most powerful you’ll find."

In the video, which is also posted below, the Flashpoint shown is on the planet Taral V which is located in the Maelstrom Nebula. It's a top-secret Imperial prison which is holding a Jedi Master who's very important to the Republic's efforts. In order to free the prisoner, a Republic strike team must infiltrate the prison and access an ancient computer hidden somewhere within the bowels of Imperial penitentiary.

You can find out more on Flashpoints over on the official website.

SWTOR still doesn't have a date, although rumors are tossing September around.
