Relic sets up Brian Wood Memorial Game Internship

Company of Heroes Online developer Relic has set up the Brian Wood Memorial Game Internship.
The program will enable three students per year to have a four-month paid internship at the studio. It’ll begin next month.
It’s named after lead developer on CoH Online Brian Wood, who died in a tragic car accident protecting his wife Erin and then unborn child last year.
“Brian was a highly regarded video game designer who made important contributions to Relic’s games, and was an integral part of the Relic Entertainment family,” read a statement on the Relic website.
“His efforts on the Company of Heroes franchise helped to establish and sustain that game as a AAA entertainment experience. On top of that, Brian was a trusted mentor, a good spirit, and a soon to be father at the time of his death.
“To honor and continue his contribution to the international games community, as well as in memory of his passions in life, Relic is creating this internship program for students who exhibit a similar passion for excellence.”

Got a thank you card from Erin on New Year’s Day, thanking me personally for the donation I made to the donation fund. The man’s a hero in my book, so it was all good.
Nice to see Relic doing this.
