Uncharted PSP2 gets shown off at Tokyo event

uncharted psp

GameSpot’s gone live with a direct-feed capture of this morning’s Uncharted demo for PSP2.

SCE WWS boss Shuhei Yoshida was there on stage demoing it live, as the new handheld, codenamed, NGP, got its debut in Tokyo. Watch it below the break.

Uncharted is one of many first-party titles coming to the platform, including LBP and Killzone.

Has it got the same code sig as the PS3? If so, I might buy one! ;)

BTW they say it’s not a port, but new spin off Uncharted game.

I just can’t understand what Nintendo is doing showing us… PORTS while Sony created something like this, considering they have worse 1st party portable devs.

Looks very pretty, at least at this distance. Would be nice to get some proper videos.

However, bollocks to the novelty control crap. You’ve got sticks and buttons – use those.

The gyro feature seems to be nice while the touch one doesn’t

That’s some really inventive use of the touch screen, actually.

There’s something funny about tapping an enemy and watching him fall off the cliff. The climbing stuff looks like a nice shortcut approach as well.

That looks outstanding. Seriously. I’m gay for this and whatever Killzone game’s coming to the platform.

That screenshot looks great! The web site, however, makes my eyes bleed. :-D

A lot of those implementations seem rather gimmicky but that’s to be expected; remember all the ill-advised touchscreen usage in early DS games. Developers will whittle down to which functions genuinely add to the experience.

I’m guessing this is going to be a prequel to the first game. Whatever the case I’m glad it’s a new entry and not a port.

Looks superb.

I do like some of gimmicky stuff though. Ok the touchpad thing going up the rope was ok, but the use of the gyroscope was excellent.

I suppose touch controls will prove unnecessarily Gimmicky after a few uses (cf. most DS games that got touch controls slapped on them unnecessarily). Can anyone confirm that these are optional?

As huge as the PSP2 is, those buttons seem tiny somehow.

Holy shit, hope this doesn’t get any “exclusives” we will be desiring in PS3. Spin offs? Ok! Ports? Ok! Exclusive titles we will be desiring in PS3? Hell, no!
