Heavy Rain film adaptation fast tracked

heavyrain4

Warner Bros. have fast tracked the film adaptation of cinematic interactive fiction title, Heavy Rain, which despite causing us to boggle so hard our hats fell off, actually exists.

Variety reports that Deadwood and NYPD Blue writer David Milch, currently working on the horse-racing series Luck, will write the adaptation.

The film is being produced by Unique Features, also behind the upcoming Shiver and The Mortal Instrument, and founded by Lord of the Rings producers Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne.

A film of such a film-like game seems a little redundant, but perhaps it'll focus on unexplored aspects of the story. Heavy Rain's game script was 2,000 pages long, so there's plenty of material to work with. Just check out this collection of spoiler-ific deleted scenes.
