Just Cause 2 developer Avalanche Studios has told Eurogamer it’ll announce its new title within the next month.

Boss Christofer Sundberg told the site the game will appear on PSN and XBLA, whilst further adding the other two projects the studio is working on are further out from being announced.

“Our XBLA/PSN project will be announced in a month or so, but the other two projects will not be announced in the near future,” he told the site.

The studio’s last release was Just Cause 2, which released last March for PS3, 360 and PC.

It’s thought the studio is also working on a Mad Max game to tie-in with Mad Max 4 next year. God of War II’s Cory Barlog is supposedly tied in with the project.

    This could be very good.

Avalanche’s engine is great but Just Cause 2 was rather bloated with a lot of filler. Hopefully a downloadable game will be tighter as such titles don’t come with the same expectation of 20+ hours of content.

Of course I’ve no idea what the game is, but it stands to reason it’ll be fairly open and procedural.

I loved Just Cause 2, but the criticism is perfectly accurate.

The insane ammount of copy paste with somewhat sporadic attention to detail was definitely the biggest hindrance.

Really though, as a bare bones physics playground, it was still an amazing game, and I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes on this one.

Also been doing a double take on Saints Row 2, which also, in spite of not being a high tech, polished, boring urban opera like GTA IV easily claims the number one spot on my sandbox list just on sheer spite and love of chaos.
