Earlier this month we heard reports of a ten-part web series from Mortal Kombat: Rebirth director Kevin Tancharoen, and to the simultaneous delight and horror of fans around the world. Warner Bros. has confirmed them.

The series will explore the backstory and history, including “never-before-revealed insights”, of notable Mortal Kombat characters, will Scorpion, Johnny Cage, and Liu Kang confirmed so far.

The series will begin shooting in Vancouver in February and will be available in the northern hemisphere’s spring through “online digital retailers”.

    This is amazing news!

IMHO they should have used this mini series as the basis for the forthcoming reboot.

The game looks good regardless, but the gritty Nolanesque realism could have gone so far in a fighting game, especially one regarded for its fatalities.
