Capcom: Inafune's departure brought us together

inafune

Legendary Megaman designer Keiji Inafune shocked fans with his sudden departure after two decades with Capcom, but his departure is reported to have made the publisher "a lot closer".

Ryota Niitsuma, producer on Marvel vs Capcom 3, told EDGE that Inafune was a well-liked leader, but hasn't left a hole behind him.

"By him leaving the company I think it has made the company a lot closer - we're a lot tighter in terms of relationships," he said.

"I think we'll be able to fill the gap together with better teamwork; in terms of pure talent we have a lot of talented creators and programmers in the company, so I don't see that as a problem at all."

Although Inafune's sudden change of life remains somewhat mysterious, Niitsuma did comment that "there's no point him staying in the company if he thinks what he's doing isn't right and doesn't fit his creative aspirations."
